My new Japanese addiction is Hiyayakko. I eat tofu raw at home all the time and my mother fries the tofu with different things. However, whenever I'm at Chaya in Costa Mesa, I always have to get my Jasmine Milk Tea and my Hiyayakko.The secret to this tiny refreshing dish is the bonito fish shavings. It's my favorite part of the dish so I always ask for more. There is also ginger in this dish, but I don't like it and ask for it separately. It's the perfect study break food.
