Google Tips
Google Operator Commands:
link:www.yoursite.com - This command will show you all of the backlinks to your site. Handy tool for finding out who is linking to you.
related:www.yoursite.com - This command will show you a list of pages that Google thinks are related to your site in some way.
site:www.yoursite.com - Searches only those pages from the site you list.
allinurl: - If you start a query with [allinurl:], Google will restrict the results to those with all of the query words in the url. For instance, [allinurl: google search] will return only documents that have both “google” and “search” in the url.
define: - The query [define:] will provide a definition of the words you enter after it, gathered from various online sources. The definition will be for the entire phrase entered (i.e., it will include all the words in the exact order you typed them).
inurl: - If you include [inurl:] in your query, Google will restrict the results to documents containing that word in the url. For instance, [inurl:google search] will return documents that mention the word “google” in their url, and mention the word “search” anywhere in the document (url or no). Note there can be no space between the “inurl:” and the following word.
allintitle: - If you start a query with [allintitle:], Google will restrict the results to those with all of the query words in the title. For instance, [allintitle: google search] will return only documents that have both “google” and “search” in the title.

For instance, [intitle:google search] will return documents that mention the word “google” in their title, and mention the word “search” anywhere in the document (title or no). Note there can be no space between the “intitle:” and the following word.
cache: - If you include other words in the query, Google will highlight those words within the cached document. For instance, [cache:www.subnixus.com web] will show the cached content with the word “web” highlighted.
info: - The query [info:] will present some information that Google has about that web page. For instance, [info:www.google.com] will show information about the Google homepage. Note there can be no space between the “info:” and the web page url.
spell: - Does a spell check of any given word.
stocks: - If you begin a query with the [stocks:] operator, Google will treat the rest of the query terms as stock ticker symbols, and will link to a page showing stock information for those symbols. For instance, [stocks: intc yhoo] will show information about Intel and Yahoo. (Note you must type the ticker symbols, not the company name.)
filetype: - Does a search for a specific file type, or, if you put a minus sign (-) in front of it, it won’t list any results with that filetype.

maps: - Is a shortcut to do a google maps search.
phone: - Searches for anything that looks like a phone number.

Boondocks
This show is awesome. My favorite part is when Riley and Huey are talkin about women and hoes.
Huey: "All women are not hoes. Only 20-25 percent tops."
Riley: "Ok if they not all hoes then why do I still gotta pay to take em out to eat then? I mean, I'm payin. That's payment."
Huey: "I don't know. Cause that's just what you do. You meet a girl, you take her out to dinner but you're not paying the girl, you're payin the restaurant."
Riley: "But I'm payin, which makes her a hoe. Why don't I just give her the money I was gonna spend on dinner and that hoe can go grocery shopping."

XBox Glitches and Solutions
Blocked ventilation holes on Xbox 360? All the 360s have these "unpopped" ventilation holes. What an oxymoron. Ahhh well, here's the solution: Solution for Over-Heating A/C Adapter.
If that still doesn't work and you're fed up, do this: Smash My XBox ... download the video to watch em actually smash it after buying it from Best Buy.

Costa Rica!!!
If anyone wants to go to Costa Rica, we have ONE open spot! The trip comes to a grand total of $1200, plus or minus food & extras like souvenirs. How much do you eat? =) It's a nine day trip departing on March 24th returning April 2nd. Airfare is included in the price, but is due ASAP (we've already booked the flights) if you want to fly with the other 11 of us. It's also an immediate $250.00 deposit (due by the first week of December) plus $50.00 for travel insurance (if you want it - completely optional ... due by this Wed Nov 9th if you want it to cover the flight as well, otherwise, due anytime before the trip). The rest of the money is due in January or February (can't remember). So, if you're interested, I'm going along friends mostly from UCLA and Arizona. Message me for more info if you're interested. It's gonna be a GREAT trip!! Hiking, white water rafting, and minkey watchin'!

Catholic Church no longer swears by truth of the Bible
This is very interesting ... the Churches in England, Wales, and Scotland are saying that not everything in the Bible is accurate.

Memoirs of a Geisha
Memoirs of a Geisha. Read the book, its worth it. I don't think Zhang Ziyi is the person to play this role, nor Michelle Yeoh as Mameha. They're action fighters, not elegant geishas. Still wanna see the movie though! Here's the trailer.

Green Eyes by Coldplay
[one of my favorite Coldplay songs]
Honey you are a rock
Upon which I stand
And I come here to talk
I hope you understand
That green eyes,
yeah the spotlight,
shines upon you
And how could, anybody, deny you
I came here with a load
And it feels so much lighter,
now I’ve met you
And honey you should know,
that I could never go on without you
Green eyes
Honey you are the sea
Upon which I float
And I came here to talk
I think you should know
That green eyes,
you’re the one that I wanted to find
Honey you are a rock
Upon which I stand
And I come here to talk
I hope you understand
That green eyes,
yeah the spotlight,
shines upon you
And how could, anybody, deny you
I came here with a load
And it feels so much lighter,

And honey you should know,
that I could never go on without you

The iPod and the Bathtub
How Products Shape Out Perceptions
Do you know why iPOds are so CLEAN??
One day, Ive (the designer) took a crap and thought "Hey, nice bathroom." Kidding ... but it was close to that.
iPod designs are inspired by the cleanliness of bathrooms.
Jo told me this joke and I laughed my ass off. It was useless designer commentary from the article above so I thought I'd post it.

Harry Potter Recap
Will the next Harry Potter book answer our questions?
Let's hope so. The last one had Harry going through puberty and it was annoying. He needs to grow up now and get the story going. I can't wait. The book hits the shelves on July 16th.

Running of the Bulls
Pampolona, Spain is in its annual week of celebration and bull runs. Its infamous for the 6 bulls being released in the streets while hundreds of people run ahead of it. Many have been hurt or died of it but hey, those are the rules of the game. No blood, no foul.

Dejeuner sur 'Herbe
Also known as "Luncheon on the Grass" by Edouard Manet. Saw this in Paris in its true form. It's another one of my favorite pre impressionist paintings. I love the challenging look on her face. Claude Monet will honor it later with his own version of Dejeuner sur l'Herbe but I like the original better.

Persian New Year
Norooz from National Geographic
Nowruz celebrations began on Tuesday night marking what's known as Wednesday Eve which is the spring equinox. They will continue until April 1, the 13th day of spring.
Persians typically gather around bonfires and the young jump over fires as they chant the Persian phrase, "Give me your beautiful red color/Take back my sickly pallor." This ritual is supposed to clean the body of illness, bad feelings, etc, getting rid of the unhealthy things and picking up the warmth, the glow, of the fire," Afkhami, the Foundation for Iranian Studies director, said.
