Girls Girls Girls

My friend Taylor is getting married and she wanted to go look at dresses at this place I know here in Huntington Beach. It's called Jinny's Bridal, and we absolutely LOVE this place. It's kind of a dinky place from the outside, but inside, the service and the quality dresses for the prices are unbeatable. Everytime I bring someone here, they find a dress.

We took the opportunity to have a girls day with mojitos, trying on dresses, taking pics, and just hanging out at my pad. Near sunset, we had this bright idea to drive to Newport to this cliff I use to go to when I was taking intro photography. It had great lighting during sunsets, but we didn't get there til 8 pm. That gave us half an hour to get up the hill, set up, and shoot! Here are the results.

I told them I wanted a shot of just us looking straight ahead.
They were having none of that. It's all about the pose!

Girls just wana have fun.

shiny new rear end

I got my car back and it's beauuuutiful! All the little dents from the dense and compact parking at OCC and then parallel parking at UCLA are all gone! Not only did they fix the giant dent from the accident, the little nicks are polished, and they detailed the outside of my car! Here are the results! Masterpiece Body Works!

OLOL

I absolutely adore this blog. Our Labor of Love. They are a husband and wife team of photographers and are based out of Atlanta. They have this quality of image style that's a bit older, more organic than any other photographer duo I've seen yet. It's their style and I love it. Check em out!

gladiators

Although the Vegas trip was spontaneous, I still had a list of places to stop by and things to get. I packed my tripod, about 5 outfits for the ONE day we were going to be there, and made a list of where to stop. First: outlets. I don't even know the name of the outlet, but there was a Guess store there. I specifically went there in search of shoes, and I found them. I put them on, and they were golden [no pun intended]. I walked around the whole store about 3 times before I made the decision to buy them. On top of that, they were on sale.

Primpin' and Preppin'

Second: Primm Valley Casino. We made a stop here to do the shoot. I was planning for more of a desert feel, but when I saw the roller coaster and the bed of red rocks from the parking lot, I decided this would be it. I was also hungry, so we went into the casino to prep for our amateur photoshoot. By the way, it was damn hot.

Holy Shit I Love You

LeLove

My Ride for the Week

This is going to be my ride for the week. Not too shabby, eh? Albiet there are no power windows, power locks, or sun roof, the engine is surprisingly powerful. It's a good substitute rice rocket.

In our family, the oldest gets the newest car, and the younger ones inherit the older models. I want to say there is logic behind this...older siblings drive longer - i.e. more experience. But no. We still run our family like a caste system. You were born last, sucks to be you. I'm ok with this system...can't blame me, I was born first!

However, I have not taken the last 2 cars offered to me. One was a blue Matrix [I like red] and the other is a Silver Honda Civic Hybrid [I still like red]. My younger bros are enjoying the fruits of my devoted love to my red rice rocket, but now that I'm tentatively researching this Mazda 3, oldest sister just may take THIS one.

The Twirling of the Hair

Everyone and everyone that knows me, knows that I twirl my hair. Obsessively, unconsciously, rhythmically. I twirl when I'm reading, studying, thinking, walking, driving, and sometimes, even eating. [chopsticks only require one hand]. It's something I got from my mum...and it started at a very early age. My aunts, uncles, grandparents, and even friends have tried to break me of this habit. It did not work.

The Weekend!

I have Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off! A rare occasion, and I have no idea what I want to do, who I want to see, or where I want to go.

Any suggestions?

... I am currently thinking of finishing up a scrapbooking project and read a NORMAL book.

matrix got a boo boo

My little red Matrix got rear ended last night. *tear.. :(
I was at a red light, about to make a right. I was halfway into the street, checking for traffic before making the turn, and he rams into me.

Since it was technically on private property, the cops usually don't take incident reports, but my friend was with me, and I had him run to the Starbucks I just passed by, and grab a cop there. The cop came up and explained the private property deal...but made the exception since my car was halfway out onto the street, and the other guy is from out of state. Thanks Officer Gallant!

Thank god the damage isn't bad, and I'm not hurt or anything, but my hatch has a huge dent in it and my bumper wont pop back in. I'm annoyed at the stupidity of the accident, and that I have to take out time to get an estimate and then have it fixed.

Playing in Vineyards

I was spending the day in Temecula with a few of my closest friends. Halfway there, I realized that my beloved G10 is still sitting in the charger at home, right next to my door. CRAP!! I frantically text Leanne [she has a blog too]to make sure she grabs her G9, and she did! These are a few from that amazing camera and amazing photographers: the Sargeants. I shot a few as well, but since I didn't have my camera, I got to be a ham more! The weather was INSANELY beautiful that day, overcast and almost rainy at 68 degrees....with spots of sunshine to light up the colors of the sky.

This is, by far, the best pic of the day.
It's totally posed by Paul, but gotta give him credit. He brings out the love like no other!
I adore this group shot. I feel like I'm on the set of Pushing Daisies.
Another one of my favorites. Leanne took this pic when we were frolicking illegally into the vineyard with wine glasses in hand!
Leanne and Paul do these shots often. They are so adorable.
Too bad I had to ruin it for them. But it was so much fun!
Amazing sunset at Longshadow Winery
We ended the day with presents for Leanne! This trip was for her much belated bday back in May. We also crashed a party at Longshadow, and took over a whole table. We brought picnic baskets filled bread, cheese, pate, and fruit to eat...and opened another few bottles of wine. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful day. Bon Anniversaire Leanne!

overland cafe

One of the best things to do in LA is champagne brunch! Our favorite spot is the Overland Cafe

My friend Carmen flew back into town this last weekend, my friend Leanne came up to visit, and my friend Kat was moving out of her UCLA apartment. I drove up to LA to spend the weekend with them, and we just had to fit brunch in. I have been coming here since my undergrad days, and I have many fond memories of this place. $5 gives you unlimited champagne as long as you're sitting there...and they do NOT hold back on the bottles of champagne! The only thing is that you must put out a day to come here. After brunch, we usually sit on the lawn of the house by the restaurant...and play duck duck goose...watch TV, and then take a 5 hour nap. Good times...

Priscilla Ahn

I was browsing through some blogs for my photoshoot and stumbled on this song in Two Ellie's blog. I thought it was a beautiful song, and it got to me. It's called Dream by Priscilla Ahn
