Missing my Cam
Lately, sitting in class, I am browsing through hundreds of photographers' blogs. Beautiful pictures and ideas are flowing through my head, but I can't make them happen. I miss my camera and I miss taking pictures. Going through law school, photography gets put on the back burner...so I am looking forward to the summer where I have no job, and less classes to worry about.
I think I'll take up Photoshop this summer along with Art Law and Internet Law. How appropriate are these 3 classes together....

Robert Galvez
Our lovely friend works on the set of 24, and she was chosen as the new name that will be used for one of the incoming characters. They do this quite often with their favorite crew members apparently, so it's kind of cool to have your name honored as one of the characters!
We have been waiting for the character to appear a few weeks now, but the character name finally made its debut tonight.
Warning: there are spoilers of the episode so advance with caution.
GALVEZ!!!

I love looking at wedding photography. My best friends are wedding photographers, and I have stared at all their photos, and a million others. It's a girl thing. But I love it when a shot hits me bc the positioning, lighting, or pose is striking. This is one of them. Amanda Couture

Barrister's Ball
Barrister's Ball for Whittier Law School was on a boat this year. We went around Newport Harbor, and the top floor was strung with yellow lights. The party was super fun, although I thought it ended too soon. Saw lots of fun people, beautiful dresses, all dancing the night away.

Fat Kids Love Cake
I'm about 3 weeks from finals, and needed a night of family, friends, and CAKE. Us girls proposed the idea of getting a Givral Cake to share, and just veg out. But somehow the boys got roped into it, and they proposed Boiling Crab for dinner as well. We combined and this is what we ate tonight. Yum. Yum.

Everything's Amazing, Nobody's Happy
"Taking technology for granted! uuughhh, it won't...give it a second! It's going to SPACE!"
"Everybody on every plane should be like OMG!! This is amazing! You're sitting in a CHAIR...in the SKY."
HILARIOUS.
This one is pretty good too. Being White

Country or Parents
This article tore at my heart. A girl was born in Japan from Filipino parents that immigrated illegally in the early 90s. Now, at 13 years of age, her parents are being deported back to the Philippines, and she has to make the decision on whether to stay in Japan, her birthplace, or go with her parents. She chose to stay in Japan, and leave her parents.
I don't know what I would have done in if I was in that situation. Like her, I was also born in the United States from immigrant parents. Although they came legally, the approaching anniversary of the the fall of Saigon on April 30th, coupled with this article, kind of made me wonder if the circumstances were different, where I would be today...

Asian American Names
Apparently, Asian American names are toooooo hard to pronounce. WOW, I guess Li, and Le, and Chang are just too complicated for the American tongue...or at least the Texas tongue.
Representative Betty Brown of good ole' Texas is calling on Chinese Asians to adopted names that are "easier for Americans to deal with."
Rep Betty Brown makes statement on Asian names
and her defense...
Voters simplifying their names not racially motivated
omg, woman.

Phil's Diary
I watch the Amazing Race religiously. Every week, for I think 14 seasons now.
This season, I have been watching it online, and I noticed Phil's diary.
I love Phil, mostly because he's been ALL around the world many times over.
His diary is mostly what he does while he waits for the teams to arrive at the pitstop and also his observations about the countries he visits.
Here are some of my favorites:
Phil gets a shot of B6
Phil lives on a 747 Air New Zealand plane
