To effectively communicate, we must realize that we are all different in the way we perceive the world and use this understanding as a guide to our communication with others. - Anthony Robbins

flower power
My mom has a million of these silk flowy shirts. I use to take them and she would get mad, so I went on a hunt to find my own. I got this one at Forever 21 along with the red skirt. I put them together in the dressing room; it looks like a dress almost...
This Jules Jurgenson watch was a graduation gift from one of my closest friends from law school. We went on a gold watch hunt for him, which was a fail [he ended up getting a super duper insanely nice Raymond Weil instead] but I did develop a huge liking to gold watches that day. Thanks Deedo!

On another note, I labeled this post Law School Life, because this is about all I'm allowing myself to do for fun during barbri. I've eliminated most of my facebook time, TV shows, and other waste of timers, but I still want to take my camera out every so often. This weekend is Memorial weekend, and i have a packed schedule ahead! Since barbri is going to pick up a bit faster after Monday, I am attending a college roomie's bachelorette party, a college friend's going away [she's joining the Peace Corps and going to Africa!], and then Sex & the City extravaganza at the Arclight with the gals!!!! ..... [which reminds me, I need an outfit for that night!]

french inspired bridal shower
omg omg omg I want this for my own bridal shower! Actually, i just want to throw this party period ... or just be IN this party!
I was checking out one of my favorite photographer's blog, Jasmine Star, and she did a photoshoot for this bridal shower. The collaboration of Style Me Pretty, Jasmine Star, and classy girls make for an absolutely stunning shoot. French inspired color palate of black, pink, and white; Chanel parfum; and classy clothing are all the things that I love. LOVE.

juris doctorates
A slew of my friends graduated this month from law school, me included, and we are now doctors!! Well, juris doctors. *_* Three years have flown by, and I've made some lifelong friends. Since we all attend different schools after our first year, we all had different graduation dates, so we all went to each others to cheer! I've blogged Kat's graduation, and now here is mine. I also included some from Michelle's from the week after.
I am very very lucky to have the most awesome of friends. Whether they drove down from LA, flew in from San Francisco and Seattle, or just woke up and rolled over to the school, they came to celebrate with me, and it was an amazing day.
I was surprised with tons of confetti being popped in my face while I was walking back after the ceremony too! My cousin bought the biggest confetti popper she could find, and had people strategically placed along the runway. When they saw me, they popped it, and confetti went flying in the air for a solid 30 seconds! Two more went off afterwards, creating this awesome cloud of confetti for all the grads to enjoy! Yes, she did get some props from the other families for this little scenario! I'm still awaiting pictures from people, and I'm hoping someone got pictures of the confetti!
check out these shoes!!

We can't go without an outfit shot! I'm wearing a Michael Kors black dress I found at Ross for less than $40! It was a tad big so I had it tailored in, and it now fits like a glove. Michelle is wearing a Calvin Klein dress, found at the same Ross! Her dress is the white version of my pink one that I wore for my own graduation. [i didn't think to take pictures without my robe that day]

wine tasting portraiture
Santa Barbara is so much fun. We hit up Santa Ynez and Los Olivos. I really love Los Olivos for the cute streets, old cottages, and amazing restaurants. We went down Grand Street taking pictures, tasting, and then eventually having dinner at Los Olivos Cafe. Most of the pictures from this trip come from Leanne and her amazing D700, but I snuck in a few of my own from my G10. This post is all from the D700. We were at Carhartt, on the 5th tasting I believe, and in much need of a break from tasting. Here are some individual portraits from the back patio of Carhartt winery. Mind you, there are people walking in and out of this place, giving us weird looks, but its ok, we have no shame.

bridlewood
Bridlewood was one of my favorite wineries in Santa Ynez. The grounds are absolutely stunning with the vineyards in the background, and the winery itself is spectacular. Picnic tables line the winery, so I made sure to pack a picnic basket filled with cheese and crackers. Leanne brought some of the most amazing strawberries I've ever tasted, and we bought a dry bottle of chilled chardonnay at Bridlewood for lunch. Superb time we had...great collaboration ladies!
We also celebrated Leanne's birthday here, so we brought all the presents to the picnic table and she opened them there. I dunno how I ended up with all the presents in my hands, but it makes for a very colorful photo. Tien just likes to run around and get into buckets. *_*
